Today I will tell you guys about the different type of tanks that are currently used by Indian Army:-

ARJUN MBT:-
Arjun main battle tank is a third-generation tank designed and developed by Defence Research & Development Organisation. (DRDO) This tank is named after Arjun of Mahabharat. Arjun tank was first inducted in Indian Army in may 2004.
There are 2 variants of Arjun main battle tank Arjun MK-1 and Arjun MK-2. After the induction of Arjun MK-1, Indian Army feels that Arjun MK-1 need to be upgraded because of some limitations and that's why DRDO upgraded Arjun MK-1 with 93 major upgrades and named it Arjun MK-2.]
Arjun MK-1 and Arjun MK-2 both are very much different from each other in terms of specification.
Arjun MK-2

Some of the major upgrades of Arjun MK-2 are:
- missile-firing capability against the target
- night vision
- additional ammunition type
- enhanced main weapon penetration
- explosive reactor armour
- advanced air defence gun
- mine plougher
- land navigation and warning system
- infrared jammer
- laser warning control system
- an upgraded fire control system
- advanced missile system
Arjun MK-2 is capable of firing at day and night both the situations.
Currently, Indian Army is operating 248 Arjun MK-1 tanks and has ordered up to 124 Arjun MK-2 tanks. In future, Indian Army will include 3,500 Arjun MBT in service.

T-90 Bhishma:-
T-90 is a 3rd generation tank, developed by Russia. India purchased T-90 tanks as a transfer of technology. India itself has upgraded this T-90 tank and named it T-90 Bhishma. T-90 Bhishma is one of the largest tanks in Indian Army and is included in modern technologies of India

5) Engine - 800-1000 HP engine
6) Speed - 60kmph on road & 45kmph on rough terrain

- anti-tank guided missile range: 5km
- equipped with fire guided missile
Currently, Indian Army is operating 1,650 T-90 Bhishma tanks
T-90 Bhishma
T-72 Ajeya:-
T-72 is a 2nd generation tank, developed by the Soviet Union. After India purchased this tank Indian scientist done several major upgrades to this tank and named it T-72 Ajeya. By seeing today's generation of tanks DRDO has upgraded its engine with 1,000 HP indigenous engine. DRDO has also improved its formal imaging and fire control system. Its nuclear, chemical & biological protection system is also improved by our scientists.

3) Width - 3.6 meters
4) Height - 2.23 meters
5) Max speed - 80kmph
6) Operational range - 460 km

T-71 Ajeya has completed over 50 years of service in Indian Army and currently, Indian Army is operating 2,414 T-72 Ajeya tanks.
