AMCA Project of India
Today I will tell you guys about India's one of the biggest project - AMCA
AMCA stand for advance medium combat aircraft which is under development phase, and is being developed by aerospace industry team of India which consists of the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) as a design firm and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) as a primary contractor and main assembly firm.
AMCA is a 5th generation figher aircraft, in simple words it is going to be the best aircraft of Indian Air force fleet. The main motive to make this aircraft is to replace the old Jaguar, Dassault Mirage-2000, Mig-23, Mig-27 air crafts. (Mig-27 aircraft is an upgraded version of Mig-23 aircraft)

AMCA programme is a continuation of Medium Combat Aircraft (MCA) programme. Work on AMCA project was started in 2008 under the name of MCA project. Then, the official work on AMCA was started in 2011 and the information about this project was published in 2014.
For the design and development phase of this project the required budget was around 5,000 crore Rupees. Reports says that the design of this aircraft will be out in 2018 or 2019, but the first prototype will be developed in 2024 or 2025.
Now, let's talk about some specification of this aircraft :-
- Crew - 1
- Engine type - Twine engine
- Max. speed - 2.5 Mach (around 3000 kmph)
- Max. range - 2800 km
- Take off weight - Total 36 tonnes
Also AMCA is a stealth technology based figher aircraft which means it is designed to absorb most of the waves emitted by Radar. The material used to make the body of AMCA is Radar absorbent material (RAM) which makes AMCA a stealth aircraft.
AMCA also consists of self healing system which helps the aircraft to calibrate according to any particular system failure. AMCA has an amazing manoeuvrability and it also has an advance cockpit display which makes it easier for pilot to navigate. It also comes with advence avionics systems which increses it's power.
After completing the development and test flight of this aircraft the primary user of AMCA will be Indian Air force and Indian Navy. Naval version of this aircraft is also under design phase and after development it will be the part of Indian Navy too.
